Closing dates for applications

We have a rolling deadline, and registration is open all year. The submission are reviewed every 2-3 months.

Ad-hoc admissions

If you have the support (including funding or external funding) of a faculty member with PhD supervision rights, you may be forwarded for direct admission. In this case, you can submit your application at any time. Please contact your prospective supervisor for further information; she or he need to preregister you with the PhD board for ad-hoc admission.
In addition to the standard application documents, your application should provide a letter from the advisor confirming the supervision and providing suggestions for the qualification studies.

In particular, ad-hoc admission is possible for candidates that have been successful in the selection process of the affiliated institutes (e.g., MPI-SWS, DFKI, IESE).
